Business Development Manager

CoWare is seeking a business development manager as part of its worldwide marketing and business development team. The business development manager will work in conjunction with product marketing managers, solution specialists and the sales team to identify opportunities for CoWare’s fast growing Virtual Platform and Processor Designer technologies. The business development manager will engage with semiconductor and IP companies to:

  • Evangelize the use of ASIP (Application Specific Instruction-set Processor) and the associated CoWare development tools.

  • Identify and develop opportunities for the modeling of high speed instruction accurate processor models for use in virtual hardware platforms.

  • Identify and develop the supply chain between IP, Semiconductor and System companies around the use of virtual hardware platforms for software development.

The business development manager position requires:

  • Knowledge and connections within the IP and semiconductor community with a track record of establishing successful relationships that further the company’s market position.

  • Fundamental technical knowledge around processor design technologies and embedded software development technologies.

  • Strong, customer facing communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels (engineers, managers and executives).

  • A high level of motivation to get the job done and the flexibility to adapt to a fast paced environment.

  • The ability to work within a multi-functional team (marketing, sales, engineering, executives) and worldwide distributed teams.

  • Proven ability to understand and communicate both the technical and business benefits of CoWare’s solutions.

Backgrounds such as Business Development, Strategic Alliance, Product Marketing and Technical Marketing will be considered.

The position is based in San Jose. Travel will be required up to 25%.

Product Line Marketing Manager (Processor Designer Product Line)

 

The product line marketing manager is responsible for the marketing management of the fast growing Processor Designer Product line and its integration in CoWare’s solutions. He/She will own the complete lifecycle deliverables including strategy, business plan, product requirements, product planning, positioning, pricing, sales enablement and ecosystem development. He/She will work closely with other team members to ensure that technologies, methodologies and solutions are aligned and deliver an integrated solution to CoWare’s customers. This position represents a unique opportunity for someone interested in taking a growing product to its next growth phase.  The product line marketing manager will be located at CoWare’s headquarter office in San Jose, California.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand the competitive landscape and market characteristics and translate this into strategies, roadmaps and product requirements.

  • Collaborate with engineering and field organizations to create detailed market requirements and work with engineering on execution of the roadmap.

  • Prioritize resource allocation based on solid business expectations.

  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies.

  • Own positioning, pricing strategies and competitive activity related to processor design technologies.

  • Seek out and further develop partnerships.

  • Create marketing communication content.

  • Be able to present a technical demonstration to customers and understand the technology behind the products.

  • Assist Sales and Customers directly working on customer opportunities. 

Job Requirements:

  • 7 – 10 years of industry experience with application sub-system and processor design.

  • Product marketing/management experience with modeling, design, implementation and software development tools.

  • Technical background required.

  • Strong knowledge of the market ecosystem including (RTL tool ecosystem and embedded software tools)

  • Processor IP company experience is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Comfortable interfacing and working across function and internationally.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, global environment.

  • Global travel 15 – 30% of the time

Staff Field Applications Engineer


The primary focus of the Staff level FAE is to partner with Sales to support the sale and adoption of CoWare’s ESL design products and services. Typical sales support activities include technical discovery meetings, analysis of customers’ ESL requirements, selling the customer specific value of a CoWare solution, product demonstrations, solution presentations, evaluations and benchmarking.

The FAE is also responsible for assisting CoWare customers with post sales support activities include product training, support for general product usage, technical issue resolution and managing and tracking issues reported by customer. The FAE will sometimes be involved in creation of statements of work, oversee specification and /or implementation of customized ESL environments, and perform modeling, platform creation, OS bring up and system debug on virtual platforms.

In addition, the FAE will provide field input to engineering and marketing for product development, promote CoWare technology in trade shows and continuously seek to update their knowledge and understanding of CoWare’s ESL solutions, relevant markets and technologies.

Minimum qualifications and requirements include:

  • BS (MS preferred) in EE or CS, knowledge of processor based SoC design and simulation, proficiency in C/C++ programming, use of software development tools and scripting with Perl or TCL on Linux or Windows environments

  • 5+ years industry experience in performing or supporting system level SoC design tasks such as system level modeling and simulation, platform architecture exploration, embedded processor design, OS bringup or embedded software development

  • Experience of working effectively with sales to support the sales and deployment of high tech software products and services

  • Ability to learn quickly, operate independently, solve problems, sell technically and interact effectively with internal and external customers

  • The role requires travel (up to 40% of the time)

Solution Specialist

CoWare is seeking a solution specialist as part of its worldwide marketing team. The solution specialist will work in conjunction with the principal solution specialists and product marketing managers to support customer engagements (opportunity qualification, evaluation, competitive analysis, example development, application notes, etc), marketing programs (webinars, trade shows, customer application stories, etc) and product definition/development (market requirement definition, user level specification, development nimble teams, etc). The position requires technical knowledge as well as the motivation to succeed in a fast paced environment.

The following technical knowledge will be considered for this position:

  • Embedded software development including operating systems, device drivers, application development.

  • Embedded software development tools such as debugger, compiler, instruction set simulators, hardware development boards and emulators.

  • ASIP and application susbsytem design including RTL implementation and software development tool implementation.

  • Knowledge of simulation technologies and system level technologies including languages such as SystemC or LISA is a plus.

The Solution Specialist position requires:

  • A high level of motivation to get the job done and the flexibility to adapt to a fast paced environment.

  • The ability to work independently within a team distributed internationally.

  • Proven ability to understand and communicate both technical and business benefits of CoWare’s solutions.

  • Strong, customer facing communication and presentation skills.

  • Success creating and delivering technical sales tools and demonstrations.

The position requires a technical degree (BS/MS) in computer science or electrical engineering and 5+ years of practical development in a leading embedded software or processor design development team.

Background such as Field Application Engineers, Technical Marketing Engineer or Engineers interested in moving to a marketing function will be considered.

The position is based in San Jose. Travel will be required up to 15%.
